Personality:
Positive Trait: Hard-working: Ivan puts a notable amount of effort into everything he does. Though a large part of this is due to the way Unsha raised him, some of it is motivated by a desire to be accepted. As he came into Anakt Garden as a quiet, strange child, he was rejected by most of the other children for being off-putting. As he grew, he committed his time to developing a more 'normal' and friendly personality. He practiced smiling. He learned how to speak professionally and personably, reaching a point where he was almost too perfect in the eyes of others in Anakt Garden.

Negative Trait: Obsessive: Ivan described to be obsessive over Till. Even though he's sure he won't be loved in return by him, he puts a lot of energy to stay in his view and be by his side. Though he likes to prod and annoy him, he can't seem to stand being away from him. He even at some point in their childhood leads Till into a dangerous situation, seemingly just to watch his reaction. He even seems to plan his whole time during the Alien Stage contest around Till's outcome, likely seeking to be the one to compete against him so he can save him by sacrificing himself. His obsession ends up being a detriment to both him and Till, making it hard for them to connect properly in the end.

Negative Trait: Childish: Ivan's difficulty with emotions has made him quite childish emotionally. He expresses his affection by teasing others or playing small pranks. He sulks. He whines in disappointment. When he sacrifices himself for Till, he forcibly kisses him to express his feelings in a final moment, not considering Till's feelings in the moment. When he finds Till following his sexual assault, he nuzzles his face against him, which the directors describe as a particularly childish expression. Due to his difficulty with emotions from his traumatic childhood, he may have been able to practice emotions to understand them better, but that understanding never properly matured to match his age. While he conducts himself in an otherwise mature manner, that boyishness comes out when he's close to someone.

Negative Trait: Fatalistic: Ivan believes he will never be loved. In his mind, this is fate. He is destined to never be happy and never be cared for in his life, and in his death, he seemed to have felt the same. He calls his love for Till 'shallow', believing that Till could have never reciprocated. This was cemented for him the day he attempted to escape Anakt Garden with him and Till left him to return to stay with Mizi. This fatalism traps him in his less-than-honest emotional state, never truly feeling like others would understand or care to connect with him. It is this belief that will likely lead him to believe his time and pain in Duplicity was simply a continuation of his fate.

Powers and Abilities: Other than singing real good, he has no abilities. He is a normal human.
